The stick is hot forged in Sterling Silver and is held at an angle of 10°. The candle is a standard C of E candle readily available; it doesn’t drip, smoke or burn too quickly.

Butterfly Candlestick
Hand forged and pierced Silver Gilt.
This piece was made especially for the 10th anniversary exhibition
of The Association of British Designer Silversmiths.
The Butterfly ball is made from 112 hand pierced and planished silver
butterflies and has been guilded in 23½ ct gold. It weighs
10ozs and 10° of the butterflies are breaking away from the sphere
to support the candle.
